ANNOUNCING!
In Praise of Mountain Women
Home Circles

in
Kingsport, TN

In Praise of Mountain Women is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together mountain women to share stories, trade skills, celebrate themselves and each other, and to energize their minds and spirits. About every two years In Praise hosts a weekend long gathering so this can happen.

In Praise also hosts Home Circles in between the gatherings, which are meetings of local women to begin or extend friendships with other mountain women.

Come be a part of the new Kingsport Home Circle. Join us and meet new friends, share your story with others, and talk about issues that matter to you with other women who understand what you're going through.

Meetings will be held in the Community Room of the Model City Apartments two Fridays a month from 5:30pm to 6:30 pm. Children are welcome, and refreshments are provided.

Please contact Winnie at astacia_m@yahoo.com with the subject "Home Circle" for more information.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The K-12 sub-committee in the Tennessee General Assembly is going to decide this Wednesday 3/11 whether to advance bill HB0821 which would ban all mention of homosexuality in schools. 7:07 pm - good evening

melissa35
Hi, My name is Melissa. I'm 36yrs old, and I'm looking to make friends in Tennessee. It would be nice if you could tell me how to add you to my friends list. What are your interest? Hobbies? Is all that information in your live journal? I'm a struggling writer who has a mental illness called schizoaffective. I take medication day/night that helps me focus and allows me to be active. I'm overweight because of my poor eating habits in the past while I began this medication. I was depressed when I found out I was mentally ill, but now I embrace the idea. I explore, learn and accept. I honestly collect disability for my illness, but I'm determined to write short stories perhaps a book or few just to attempt publication. I don't want to be all talk. I like a clean house, and yes, I live with my parents. I believe in God and Jesus, and I love God and Jesus. My hobbies are reading, writing, walking, swimming, working, cooking, eating healthy and unhealthy, watching movies, listening to all kinds of music, dancing, going to coffeeshops for good conversation, waffle house conversations and coffee, and I'm willing to take a chance to make friends. I'm seeking male companionship perhaps an attempt to date someone or maybe date a few men. I believe in friends first, but want more out of the relationship. I'm trying to lose weight on my own since I know a man will refuse to help me for moral support though I seek a morally supportive husband who will love fat and thin. What is perfect for you? I will tell you what perfect means to me. If you know of a legal dating service in Tennessee then please let me know. I hope they commend with the rules of the Better Business Bureau too. I'm skeptical about online dating services because I gave up online meetings a long time ago.

Have a beautiful blessed day!!!

Three towns in TN were on Business Week's top list on the best towns for raising kids. Ridgetop, Hopewell, Cleveland. The list was a total of 50 towns I believe. Just thought it was pretty cool. :)

3:40 pm - for people in the cleveland area....

joybilee
i've started a yahoo group for people trying to get or stay fit. whether you are trying to lose, gain, or maintain your weight, & regardless of how you are going about it, everyone is welcome.

in addition to the online group, we will have monthly meetings centered around some activity. it can be anything from bowling to hiking depending on the season & what people want to do. the group is open now, but brand new so nothings going on yet, but the meetings won't start until after the holidays.

hope to see some new faces! it'll be a fun source of support & motivation.

9:43 pm - Clarksville events?

pittydirl
Does anyone know of any particularly exciting events going on Clarksville at the end of the month? I'm visiting my family there next month and I really want to make my visit worth while. The Clarksville website isn't particularly helpful. I know the Full Monty will be playing at the Roxy Theatre and I might check that out, but if anyone knows of anything else I would appreciate it. :)

10:35 pm - DDR in Chattanooga, TN

averypenguin
Welcome to a flagrant advertisment for our game cafe, so delete if need be, here we go:

The Battlegrounds on Jordan Dr. in Chattanooga, TN has opened Chattanooga's ONLY DANCE DANCE REVOLUTION STUDIO! We have actually build our own studio for DDR playing (PS2's Supernova and Extreme 2) complete with arcade-style METAL pads and a kickin' sound system, all centered around a 42" PLASMA SCREEN!

It's just $5.00 for all-you-can-play DDR, computer, and console gaming! We also feature tons of computer games like World of Warcraft, City of Heroes/Villains, Far Cry, Supreme Commander, and tons of console games, including Crackdown, Battlestations:Midway, and Guitar Hero 1 and 2. We have all the next gen consoles (Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3) and high-performance gaming PCs. Even better, play the hottest console games on the 110" screen in our stadium-seating arena!

For the tabletop, card, and roleplaying gamers out there, we offer tons of gaming space including private meeting rooms complete with large tables, white boards, and computer displays. We've got a fully-stocked cafe with snacks and food, as well.

Drop by across from Chattanooga Billiards Club East (75 to Exit 5, Shallowford Rd, head west past Lee Hwy to Jordan Dr.) Sunday through Thursday 12P-12A and Friday and Saturday 12P-2A. Ask for Nick, Aaron, or Avery and tell us you saw this post and we'll give you Buy One Get One Free game time! That's 5 bucks for 2 hours of better-than-arcade DDR play!

Get your game on!
